Chelsea Johns, a certified career coach at Ellevest, will guide your group to help prioritize self-care as a caregiver, set boundaries, redefine success, and shift away from the unattainable ideal of work-life balance in favor of work-life integration — so you can show up more fully in all facets of life.

What to expect
Let’s get this (Zoom) party started! You’ll meet your coach, learn what to expect each week, and start getting to know the other 11–13 women+ in your Community Circle.
Every other live session, we’ll discuss challenges, brainstorm solutions, talk through tools and best practices, and identify actionable next steps you can take that month.
At the following live sessions, we’ll talk about how things went, reflect on progress to goals, discuss course corrections, and support one another as you navigate that growth and development.
It’s time to use your new skills to thrive! At our last session together, we’ll recap what we learned, make plans and set final goals, and head out into the world with greater confidence.
Log on to your community’s online hub whenever you want between sessions. There, you can continue the conversation with your fellow community members and your coach, network together, access resources, give feedback, and more.
Meet your coach
Chelsea is a new mom who is, herself, learning how to let go of unrealistic expectations, set boundaries, and prioritize self-care. She's passionate about supporting other women+ as they navigate managing work, caregiving, and other priorities at home and in life.
Chelsea has spent the last decade working in corporate staffing, collaborating with internal recruiters and hiring managers to help attract and retain talent, expand diversity and inclusion efforts, and enhance interview and onboarding experiences. She has a bachelor’s in business management from Gettysburg College and completed her coach training through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). She’s also an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

FAQs
How do Ellevest Career Communities work?
- We’ll kick off with an orientation, where you’ll meet your coach, learn what to expect each week, and start getting to know the other 11–13 women+ in your Community Circle.
- Over the course of three months, you’ll attend eight group coaching sessions with your certified career coach — roughly one every two weeks. Each 75-minute session (held via Zoom) will cover scheduled topics, but also allow the group to discuss and work on what’s most pressing in their everyday lives. You’ll also have plenty of time to connect with your cohort members and coach.
- In between your live sessions, you’ll be able to log on to your community’s online hub whenever you want. There, you can continue the conversation with your fellow community members and your coach, network together, access resources, give feedback, and more.
How does the community matching process work?
- Our goal is to match people with a community of other women+ who are all going through similar experiences. Our coaches will look at which Community Circle sparks your interest, plus your availability and time preferences, your career level and path, and your goals.
When will I know if I’ve been matched with a community?
- Our information forms are open until January 10, 2022. We’ll let you know within one week whether you’ve been matched with a community. If we can’t match you this time, we’ll keep your name handy on a waitlist for future Community Circle openings.
Where and how will we meet?
- Your live group coaching sessions will take place via Zoom.
- Between live sessions, you’ll have access to an online community platform that allows you to chat, network, give updates, connect with your coach, and spend time in the community whenever your schedule allows. We’ll engage with one another, share resources, post links to our weekly Zoom events, and more.
- You’ll get an email inviting you to create an account for our third-party community platform after you’ve been matched and paid the program fee.
What dates and times will we meet?
Orientation (your first live session!) will take place the week of January 24, 2022.
- Beyond that, we don’t have exact dates and times yet, because we’ll take your schedule into consideration during the matching process! You’ll share your availability when you fill out your matching form.
- We’ll share our exact meeting dates and schedule when we tell you that you’ve been matched. The day of the week and time of day will be the same for each bi-weekly live session.
What if I need to miss a group coaching session?
We strongly encourage you to attend every session. Communities thrive when the participants are active and engaged; we ask that you do everything you can to prioritize these meetings (and yourself!) That said, we understand that things come up. We’ll always post a written recap of each live session to your community’s online hub so you can catch up.
What if I’m interested in more than one community?
We know, it’s hard to choose! As you read about the different communities, think deeply about what you expect out of 2022 and where you think you’ll need the most support. When you fill out the matching form, you’ll rank the communities in order of interest. We’ll factor your preferences into our matching process to find a community that suits your needs.
How do I pay?
Once you’ve been matched with a community, you’ll receive an email with a link to pay the program fee. As a reminder, all Ellevest members receive a discount on our coaching services! You can also pay with ShopPay, which allows you to split your payment in four equal installments.
Can I ask my employer to pay for this?
Yes! And we have a template you can use to make it a quick and easy ask.
What's your cancellation policy?
We get it — things happen, schedules change. If you’d like to cancel your purchase at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled Community Circle start date, we’ll refund you 100% of the total price. Once your refund is processed, you can expect your refund within seven business days. To cancel your purchase and request a refund, please reach out to support@ellevest.com.
